Our Student Program
At Lindsay Kenney, we have designed our student program to stretch your skills and build your confidence, with the goal of preparing you for long-term success.
Your professional development is our priority. Throughout your student term, you will be supported through regular feedback, mentorship, and opportunities to learn. With lawyers mentoring you from a broad range of practice areas, chosen students gain hands-on exposure to diverse files and areas of interest.
With LK Law, expect to enjoy a collaborative and respectful environment while gaining meaningful experience at a career-defining firm.
What to expect
1. Orientation
Our commitment to your success begins on day one with a comprehensive orientation designed to set you up for excellence. You will meet senior leadership, receive hands-on training from our Training & Legal Technology Specialist, and become familiar with our library and digital resources.
From time management and file handling to legal research and memo writing, you will receive in-depth guidance to ensure you have the tools, knowledge, and support needed to thrive.
2. Practice Groups
The student program at Lindsay Kenney is designed to provide a well-rounded experience across a variety of practice areas. Many students begin their careers with broad interests, which is why our flexible approach encourages exploration and growth.
You will work on files from both litigation and solicitor practices, gaining meaningful hands-on experience across all eight of our core practice areas.
3. Professional Development
Continued education is not just encouraged, it is expected. Students and lawyers are supported in staying current with legal developments through access to CLE courses, online resources, and regular lunch-and-learns where team members share valuable insights. This commitment to professional growth ensures you will always have the tools to deepen your knowledge and refine your skills.
4. Mentoring and Feedback
Mentorship is a cornerstone of student opportunities at LK Law. Each student is paired with a dedicated Principal who offers guidance, support, and ongoing feedback throughout the term. Both formal and informal check-ins create space to ask questions, raise concerns, and reflect on progress through constructive evaluations.
To ensure a well-rounded experience, a supervisor is also assigned to oversee exposure across multiple practice areas, helping students build a strong, versatile foundation for their legal careers.
5. Future Opportunities
Our program is built with long-term growth in mind. Every student is hired with intention, and the firm is committed to investing in personal and professional development. It is our hope that what starts as a student opportunity can transform into a permanent position at Lindsay Kenney.
