Door open to two tiered health care?

In June 2004 a Quebec doctor and his patient began a legal battle to strike down two Quebec statutes that bar paying for necessary medical services which are otherwise offered through health care. In a landmark case, the Supreme Court has declared the laws unconstitutional, opening the door for private health care across the country. While it only deals with Quebec law, the ruling opens the door for similar challenges to other provincial health care laws. Here in Vancouver, Dr. Brian Day stated he would be the test case for the challenge to B.C.’s health care laws.
